Remembering Jacqui

Fondly remembering Jacqui Quinn, beloved mother, devoted wife and friend to all.

Jacqui Quinn passed away on the 15th April 2018, at the age of 53, having been diagnosed six months prior with Pancreatic Cancer. Team Quinn are the family and friends she left behind, united by their resolve to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer amongst GPs and the public.

Early diagnosis saves lives.

Taking to the skies, going the extra mile

Team Quinn are on a mission to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer, and to raise funds for the vital work of supporting charities and institutions. In 2018, we'll be taking part in charity events as part of our fundraising initiatives, including long distance running and paramotor endurance challenges!

Retired airman Andy Quinn will be taking to the skies once again, taking up the reigns of a Paramotor. After undergoing intense training in June 2018, Andy will by flying at several charity events over the summer and attempting to cross all four UK countries over a weekend as part of an awareness campaign.

Andy’s initial 2-week paramotor training was in Italy with SkySchool, who run courses in the UK and Europe - check out their YouTube channel channel for more great paramotor content.

With thanks to:

  • The SkySchool boss Alex, for advising me on my equipment and sorting it out for me, and for getting me on the course.
  • Zeb, an excellent instructor with fantastic knowledge and paramotor skills, both in practice and for the theory lectures.
  • Rob, for organising the Italy course and making sure all logistics were in place, and for the paramotor videos and training advice.
  • James, for persisting with me during ground handling.
  • Mete, for helping with the ground handling, for our chats and continued support to TeamQuinn as we go forward in our attempts at fundraising.

Marathon Runs & Long Distance Challenges

Alex Quinn, fitness instructor and co-founder of Movement Method will be tackling long distance running events across the UK, kicking off with the 50km Cotswold Way Challenge in June 2018.

Ben & Rachel: Air Support!

Andy met Ben and Rachel on the paramotor course and are all planning on meeting up for a "parafest" of flying along with the other members of the course. Ben and Rachel will be in the air with Andy, providing air support for the latter part of Alex's run on the Cotswold Way Challenge. A massive thank you to a lovely couple!

Our Mission - early diagnosis saves lives

Our mission is to educate GPs, healthcare professionals and the general public about the symptoms of pancreatic cancer and the necessity of early diagnosis in improving survival rates.

In the UK, almost 10,000 people are newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year. Worldwide there are around 338,000 new cases each year, in Europe that figure is more than 104,000. Pancreatic cancer affects men and women equally with incidence increasing from the age of 45. The average age at diagnosis is 72.

Specifically, we want to make sure that anyone with a close relative whom has had Pancreatic Cancer is aware and vigilant of the symptoms of the disease.
